This project all revolved around math. The primary sight line out of the family room was the center for the sunken fire pit and acrylic window and the sight line out the primary back door was the center of the spa. Then all the sizes were driven by the full pieces of the stack bond pattern of the limestone 18x24" pavers. Turf strips were also added to the geometry of this modern space. The sunken fire pit was down 36" and required a 6"drain line to wrap around the whole house to get the proper elevation drop. The 36" drop gave a great space to look into the pool, so the acrylic window was added. It is a great visual every evening with or without the fire pit running . Floating benches surrounded the fire pit with strip lighting accent underneath. The firepit toe kick and stairs were also accented with LED strip lighting as well. The interior designer loved the bench wood so much she did not provide seat cushions just back cushions. The turf floor was done to bring in some greenery and not be too sterile. The spa focal point was accented by custom made sconces for the spillway. The ledge was accented with all tile and 2 gushers for some sound and lighting. The glass panel by the master bedroom provided a safe place for the dog to go out at night as needed. The math added up to a spectacular backyard pool and outdoor living space.
