Project Details - How do you transition from the house to the golf course 10 feet below? With a vanishing edge pool, of course. The large tanning ledge (3 grandkids) with lots of lighted gushers, are the first thing you see as you enter the front door and gaze across the pool onto the golf course. The spa had to be raised 18" for easy access, near the master bedroom door and not block the view of the pool and golf course. The spa is level with the pool and dropping the patio 18" helped transition the yard's substantial cross slope and solved all the challenges. The 24" drop down to the fire pit area kept the spa users warm and close to the master and helps also deal with the slope transition. The fire pit was a great visual feature from the spa as well as a gathering spot. The house retaining wall also provided additional seating for the large family gathers for smores. An additional wall allowed for planting for privacy and accent around the fire pit. The vanishing edge basin had to be large enough for dogs and grand kids to swim around and steps the full length for the dogs safely to get out. The sweeping curved weir wall and landscape walls open the travertine paving out to the evergreen synthetic grass and flow through to the golf course. House stone was used on all the landscape walls but wanted the weir to sparkle with glass tile. When you visit you can see who won the race of the sculptures, the tortoise or the hare and enjoy the views too.
