Before & After:

Beautiful swimming pool project with family entertainment in mind overlooking Possum Kingdom lake. Sometimes entertaining with large crowds of over 100 on holiday weekends, the hillside and hard rock created the thoughts for having part of the pool becoming a bar counter from inside and outside. The kitchen counter also became part of the retaining wall system on the terraced site. The 6" raised spa with the upper terrace provided great access to the home and a view of the tv without blocking any views of the lake. The lower pool terrace was down 18" so all the retaining walls along the house became additional seating. The spa spillways and simple gusher provided all the sound needed and floating pads gave access to the spa and the tanning ledge. Each pad was made of 3 full stone pieces wide to minimize cuts. The travertine paving color helped pull all the materials together including the house stone was no longer quarried with the new stone. The cabana shed roof complemented the existing home and provided maximum shade on the pool and barstools . With the bar stools recessed to the side viewers are safe from the basketball games. The simple curve of the pool does not follow a three point line but does transition the structural geometric elements with the organic rocky lakeside. Cable deck railings keep the view open to the lake and still provide safety as you transition to the putting green / soccer field. Take a swim or pull up a stool and you will definitely enjoy the view.
